Timing:  We bought above the midpoint of the recent six month performance.
Reason:  We would like to invest in a developing market. The BRIC countries seem somewhat overvalued, and we currently hold direct investments in Indian and Chinese firms. South Africa has a significant industrial base relative to most of Africa as well as natural resources. The upcoming World Cup should increase interest in S. Africa.

Timing:  We sold at close to the six month high.
Reason:  Several of the major components of this ETF are not truly South African companies. One of the largest holdings is being investigated for breaking the Iran embargo. Many other major holdings are in mining, and are experiencing labor unrest.
