Enrollment Policies

Enroll on your own
Students can enroll themselves via CIS if:
- They meet the course requisites.
- Non-business students (including exchange and non-matriculated students) must submit the Business Course Request Form to gain access to restricted business courses. Please note this is not available to Business or pre-Business students.
- There are available seats in the course.
- They do not have registration holds.
- Their enrollment appointment is active. Click here to view your registration dates!
- If you are registering for your FIRST semester at the University of Utah, you must complete all components of New Student Orientation and will be able enroll during the Eccles Group Advising Session.
Request Enrollment via Permission Code
For business students only:
- Business students who have transfer coursework as a pre-requisite to an Eccles class may need to be enrolled in courses by Undergraduate Advising Services. The University of Utah’s registration system cannot always recognize transfer courses as requisites.
- Business students who elected CR/NC in a pre-requisite course for the Spring 2020 or Summer 2020 semester will need to be enrolled in courses by Undergraduate Advising Services. CR/NC is not accepted for Business coursework outside of Spring/Summer 2020.
- Request Enrollment via the Eccles Course Enrollment Request Form at the button below.
Use the Waitlist (Office of the Registrar)
Use a “Golden Ticket” (Eccles School)
If students can no longer enroll on their own and the University of Utah’s waitlist is no longer in effect, the next option is to get the instructor’s permission in the form of a “Golden Ticket.” Click here for “Golden Ticket” policies.
For Fall 2024, students can enroll on their own for classes up until Aug. 23, 2024. The period to submit a Golden Ticket for semester-length classes is Aug. 26 at 8 a.m. through Aug. 30 at 2 p.m.
