Accounting Undergraduate Admission

The undergraduate degree in accounting gives students the chance to move beyond merely tracking income and assets. Engage in financial management, business transaction tracking, merger and acquisition strategy, tax strategy, and wealth management. Admissions Criteria

  • Admitted to the Eccles School (Upper Division)
  • Completion of Business Fundamentals (BCOR)
  • B or higher in BCOR 3010
  • 3.1 or higher total GPA
  • Admitted to the Eccles School (Upper Division)
  • Completion of Business Fundamentals (BCOR)
  • B or higher in ACCTG 5110
  • 3.1 or higher total GPA
  • Admitted to the Eccles School (Upper Division)
  • B or higher in ACCTG 3600
  • 3.1 or higher total GPA

Track A and Track B specifically refers to students in the integrated (BCOR) curriculum. Automatic Admission (Legacy) criteria applies to students in the non-integrated curriculum. To determine which curriculum you are assigned, visit Eccles.link/bcor or email advising@eccles.utah.edu.

*Submitting an application does not guarantee admission. A committee will review students’ full academic records and admit on a case-by-case basis. Admission to all Eccles School majors are subject to the Eccles School Repeat Policy. Submitting an application does not guarantee admission to the major.

Students who do not meet all of these criteria are still encouraged to apply.
The admission committee will conduct a holistic review and consider grades in quantitative courses, number of repeated courses, and overall academic performance (including transfer coursework).
