They can answer any questions about the program, student life, and experiential opportunities, and provide a current-student perspective. Brenda Fung
Brenda is a first semester student from Peru pursuing her Master’s of Science in Information Systems. Before coming to the Eccles School, she earned her bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing in Florida in 2017. Later, she went to work in marketing and operations in the banking industry. While working in the business world, she discovered how much she enjoys learning about applied technologies and decided to move to Salt Lake to learn from experts in the field. When Brenda is not learning about technology, she likes to travel, learn about different cultures, sing karaoke, and dance.
Aaron Zimmerman
Aaron has studied Business Administration, Information Technology, and Management Information Science, earning his BA from Jamestown College (now called University of Jamestown) in North Dakota. No stranger to the corporate world of Information Systems, he has worked as a software Business Intelligence Consultant, an analyst for the Royal Bank of Scotland, a Business Intelligence Developer, and is currently a Data Analyst for a Silicon Slopes company, Xactware. Aaron comes to the Eccles School with more than 12 years of experience in IT, primarily in Business Intelligence and reporting systems. He is continuing his education and started the Master of Science in Information Systems program at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business in August 2021.
Xiaerbati (Pearl) Sailikebuli
Pearl (Xiaerbati) Sailikebuli is a Kazak girl growing up in Xingjiang, China. After getting a degree in Environmental Science and finishing her first year of a master’s program in Geographic Information Science in Beijing, China, she decided to pursue a Master of Science in Information Systems at the Eccles School. She loves the combination of technology and business in the MSIS program and is determined to be a software developer after graduation. Growing up in a multi-cultural place like Xinjiang, when she is not coding, she loves traveling and making friends with people from different cultures.
Daniel Lane
Daniel Lane is an ambassador for the Master of Science in Business Analytics program here at the Eccles School. He recently earned his Bachelor of Economics from the University of Utah in Spring 2021, and he decided to continue his education by earning his master’s degree. The MSBA program seemed to have the right combination of courses to build upon what he learned during his undergraduate studies while also pushing him to learn new things. He is already appreciating the opportunities it’s been giving him, and he’s looking forward to more experiences in the future!
Eve Lau
After earning her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Business, Eve entered into the Financial Crime Compliance sector to explore her interest in the financial world. Through this experience, she took notice of the increasing importance of data science in the workforce. As her interest in data continued to grow, she decided to pursue the MSBA degree at the Eccles School to deepen her knowledge in data analytics. She wishes to integrate Business Analytics into her career and solve problems for businesses by helping them connect the dots with data.
