The MHA program is excited to introduce Alison Flynn Gaffney as adjunct faculty. She will be instructing our students on principle-based leadership in healthcare.

Alison Flynn Gaffney has been with University of Utah Health since 2017 and currently serves as the executive director over service lines, ancillary, and support services.

Prior to joining University of Utah Health, Alison worked more than 27 years in several senior-level strategic, operations, and consulting roles at academic medical centers, community hospitals, and consulting companies. Alison was most recently at GNYHA Ventures, Inc. and has worked for other global organizations such as Giuliani Partners, LLC, and New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill-Cornell Medical Center. In these roles and others, Alison has been a proven leader in health systems operations, financial management, supply chain, staff growth and development, strategic planning, and business development.

Alison has been an adjunct professor and guest lecturer in the Department of Health Care Programs at Iona College Hagan School of Business from 2005-2014. She has also been a guest lecturer at Utah Healthcare Executives, Cornell University, and Binghamton University.

Alison received her BS in Health Care Administration and her MHA in Health Services Administration from Iona College in New York. She is a board-certified fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and a certified materials and resource professional through the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM). Alison also serves on a countless number of boards, including but not limited to: Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain West, AHRMM, ACHE, and the MHA Community Advisory Board at the David Eccles School of Business. She loves volunteering her time and expertise to impact organizations and people in positive ways.
