Rocky Derrick is the co-founder and managing director of Taylor Derrick Capital, an experienced real estate finance company that has funded over $800MM in debt and equity projects throughout the Western United States. Taylor Derrick Capital currently manages four different real estate funds with over $250MM in capital under management. Mr. Derrick continues to play a key role in creating, fostering and growing win/win relationships with borrowers, development partners and investors.

Prior to Taylor Derrick Capital, Mr. Derrick co-founded Probus Group, a real estate consulting firm that advised multiple REITs, equity funds, lenders, developers and institutional asset managers with underwriting, analysis and workout strategies of over $1.5B in assets and loans. Mr. Derrick also served as the Senior Vice President of Loan Originations & Asset Management for CM Capital Services in Las Vegas, NV during the real estate recession. While there, he managed the workouts and repositioning of over $600MM in distressed assets. Preceding this position, Mr. Derrick was the Vice President of Acquisitions & Development for Seegmiller Partners, where he managed the development of over $100MM of commercial real estate projects in Newport Beach, CA and Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Derrick has been involved in the investment and development of multiple product types, including high-rise condominium, mixed-use, office, retail, single family and land development.

Mr. Derrick holds a master’s degree in real estate development from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah, where he is currently an adjunct professor in the Eccles School Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) program.
