Monday, Jan. 10

Dear Eccles School Community,

Welcome to Spring Semester 2022! We are excited to have you back on campus, and we hope you were able to recharge and refresh during Winter Break.

The Omicron variant of COVID-19 is reaching its highest numbers here in Utah and around the country. Please make sure you are fully vaccinated and have received your booster shot.

Additionally, please wear a mask while indoors on campus, including in your classrooms and as you move between classes. The University of Utah is following the Salt Lake County Health Department’s mask mandate that requires everyone to wear masks in indoor spaces and while queueing outdoors from Jan. 8 through Feb. 7, 2022.  We want to keep everyone safe and healthy, and we all need to do our part to make that happen.

You can find the latest COVID-19 information from the university here, including a recording of the town hall held Friday with University of Utah leadership.

As President Randall said during the town hall, we will continue to move through the pandemic with empathy and by caring for one another. Thank you for all you have done to ensure we continue to build our community and take steps to move forward together.

We have an exciting semester planned, and we look forward to your energy, ideas, and creativity being back on campus!

Best,
The Dean’s Team

The University of Utah recognizes and respects the enduring relationship that exists between many Indigenous peoples and their traditional homelands. Please know that we are here to support you and that several campus resources are available to you, including the University Counseling Center and the Huntsman Mental Health Institute crisis line at 1-800-273-8255.
