Alumni Spotlight:
Mbe Agbor
My fondest memories of the David Eccles School of Business were the insightful speakers the school would invite to speak to us. I recall listening to Jon M. Huntsman tell a story that as a young family struggling to make ends meet, he would anonymously leave $50 in an envelope on the front door of a family in need of help in his neighborhood. [read more]

Black Cultural Center
Using a Pan-African lens, the Black Cultural Center seeks to holistically enrich, support, and advocate for faculty, staff, and students through Black-centered research, culturally affirming educational initiatives, and service.
The Black Cultural Center enacts this mission through intentional programmatic learning outcomes, envisioned to build a sense of belonging and community at the U, with the goal of increasing the recruitment and retention of Black faculty, staff, and students. Through research, education, and service this center promotes and explores race/racism, social justice, cross disciplines, community connections, centering the black voice, leadership, and the larger African diasporic community.
Black Student Union
The mission of the Black Student Union (BSU) is to foster a sense of community among all students of the African Diaspora at the University of Utah. Our goal is to stimulate the intellectual, political, cultural, and social growth of all Utah students. We seek to educate ourselves and the larger Utah community, in hopes that awareness will spark action and ignite change in our communities.
The Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA), housed in the Black Cultural Center, is a community of graduate students who are here to provide opportunities to strengthen social connections while building professional development skills.
Office for Student Inclusion
The Office for Student Inclusion (OSI) strives to cultivate an inclusive environment through the development of student and community-focused initiatives. We are committed to ensuring all forms of diversity are understood and valued. OSI also collaborates with Eccles staff and faculty to develop or refine lessons and classroom activities that focus on diversity and inclusion. We work closely with other offices across the university to host workshops, events, and training including the Office of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion.
