Jim Schallheim

James S. Schallheim is Richard T. Pratt Professor of Finance at the University of Utah where he has taught since 1980. He also serves as the Executive Secretary and Treasurer of the American Finance Association. Professor Schallheim holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Purdue University.

Professor Schallheim has published extensively in academic journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Econom¬ics, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Financial Management and has published the book Lease or Buy? Harvard Business School Press. His research and teaching interests are corporate finance, equipment leasing, and stock markets in the US and internationally. He is co-founder and co-organizer of the very prestigious Utah Winter Finance Conference. He serves on the board of the American Finance Association and is a member of the Board of Directors of LCA Bank Corporation.
