Business Honors Program
Students who are admitted to the University of Utah’s Honors College can participate in the honors program at the David Eccles School of Business. This program gives students access to advanced business courses, taught by the school’s top faculty. Class sizes are small, allowing for strong relationships with professors.
Students also have the option of working one-on-one with a faculty mentor to write a thesis and earn an honors degree.
For help in identifying an Honors thesis mentor, please consult with your major department’s Honors Faculty Advisor (HFA), who can be found on the Honors College website here. We suggest meeting with your major department’s HFA in your sophomore or junior year to discuss your research interests.

In addition to completing the University of Utah’s and their major’s graduation requirements, students seeking an Honors Bachelor of Arts (HBA) or Honors Bachelor of Science (HBS) from the Eccles School must complete the Honors College’s requirements.

Honors Thesis
The honors thesis is a significant undergraduate research project that serves as the culmination of a student’s honors experience. Though the project itself may take on many different forms, the purpose of the thesis is to advance knowledge and understanding and further develop a student’s intellectual, professional and personal growth.
During a two-semester research and writing process, students work one-on-one with a faculty mentor, approved by the major’s Honors Faculty Advisor.
