Sorenson Center for Discovery and Innovation

The Sorenson Center for Discovery and Innovation was created with the belief that all students have the potential to become investors and innovators if provided the right kind of hands-on, experiential education. With a goal of “liberating the creative genius,” students take courses in innovation and “play in the Sorenson sandbox,” learning how to ideate, invent and apply design thinking to solving problems. Through four unique innovation labs, students develop creativity in thinking about the next technology paradigm: the Internet of Things. Students will develop skills in data analytics and visualization, computer simulation and gamification, rapid prototyping, and user experience design. The center offers both extracurricular programs and for-credit opportunities.
