Will I be able to work during my time in the program?

Our master programs require a significant time commitment and, especially at the beginning, students should be careful in allocating enough time to do well in their courses. However, many students work full- or part-time during their program. Throughout the program, students should work closely with their academic advisor to determine a program of study that will meet student needs and program expectations.

Is work experience required for admission?

The MHA program strongly suggests that applicants have experience in the healthcare administration industry, as this is a factor for consideration. Strong leadership experience, outside of healthcare, is also a factor for consideration. The average work experience for admitted students is 2 years of healthcare experience and 1 year of supervisory/management experience.

Applicants to the PMHA program should have either: 5+ years of (non-clinical) full-time healthcare work experience and 3+ years of supervisory/managerial work experience, or 5+ years of professional clinical work experience.
