Not an accounting major? Not a problem! The MAcc Intensive program is an opportunity for students with degrees in areas other than accounting to complete the accounting prerequisites and prepare for the MAcc program. Students complete prerequisites in one summer semester (May through August), and then enter either the full-time or part-time MAcc program the following fall semester.
The MAcc Intensive program has the same application and admission requirements as the graduate program. Students who complete the Intensive coursework will be admitted to begin the MAcc program in fall*. The MAcc Intensive program requires 15 credit hours completed during one summer semester. Students are expected not to work during the program, and the Intensive coursework begins approximately one week earlier than the University of Utah’s regular summer semester.
Graduates from this program are attractive to recruiters since they often have added maturity and a diversified background. All students completing the MAcc Intensive and MAcc programs have been placed in career positions.
*University academic probation standards and restrictions apply.
